Amazon Life

In m opinion life in the Amazon River is a lot harder than in the open ocean. The animals are a lot more dangerous. There are a lot of parasite like animals there. A lot of these animals go inside of other animals and live inside of them and suck their blood. There are also giant catfish that drag a lot of fisherman to the bottom of the river. Scientists think that there are about 2,000 species that have not been found yet.

The Coasts

My post is over the marine iguana. It lives on the Galapagos Islands. It clings onto rocks with its huge claws. It dives into the water for its food. It can dive over 30 feet in the water. They are clumsy on land but are very good swimmiers.

Winds and Currents

The Coriolis Effect gets wind to start blowing. The winds in turn make the currents form. The temperature varies very much around the earth. The sun heats up the water around the equator. The wind then blows the water to different places. This can bring warm water down to be cooled off and the cold water up to be warmed up.

The shoes went to their locations because of the currents. They were carried mostly by prevailing north westerly winds along the North Pacific and Alaska currents. Some of the other were blown by the northeast tradewinds on the California current.

Aphotic,Euphotic, Disphotic

This is a viper fish. It lives in the aphotic region of the ocean. This is where there is barely any light.

This is an angel shark. It lives in the euphotic part of the ocean. This is the very top of the ocean wher there is plenty of sunshine.

This is a hatchet fish. They are very shiny. They live in the disphotic or twilight zone. This is the zone between the aphotic and euphotic zones.

Coral Reef

There are lots of animals that live in the coral reef. There are shrimp that live in a sponge. They have a queen. She is the only one that can lay eggs. They have guards. These guards protect the colony. They have big pinchers.

Water Properties

When a dirty plate sits in water the water turns brown, this is an example of diffusion. Water is the universal solvent. This means that it dissolves most things. The reason why it is so easy for things to diffuse in water is because the water molecules are constantly moving. Water is constantly moving because because it has both a positive and a negat

ive atom. This causes them to constantly attract to each other.

Seasonal Sea

In todays video I thought the most important animal in the food chain was the plankton. The copepods eat the plankton. The jellyfish eat the copepods. The seals eat other fish that eat the plankton. Pelikans eat the fish also.

The awesome ocean

The thing I found most interesting was the macrol and the cleaner fish. The macrol were awesome when they formed a ball to ward off predators. They would swarm in a giant ball. I thought the cleaner fish were cool because they got rid of parasites. Fish would let them hook on and eat the parasites. They even cleaned sharks.

310

Some coral use their stinging tentacles against other brain coral. Brain coral can survive strong storms.

Dugongs eat alot. A single dugong can eat a bed of seagrass the size of a soccer field.

Sharks lose their teeth easily because they are not connected to their jaws. The whale shark has 300 rows of tiny teeth.
